Internship and Career Training are two similar programs initiated by the US Department of State, that offer graduates the opportunity to enhance their skills and expertise in their chosen academic or occupational fields through participation in sctructured and guided work based training programs and to improve participants' knowledge of american techniques, methodologies and expertise.|
The Internship program is for international university students who are either currently enrolled in a university or have graduated from a university no more than 12 months prior to his/her program start date.
The Trainee program is for people who have a degree or professional certificate from a post-secondary institution outside US and at least one year work experience in the related field OR that has at least 5 years of work experience outside the US in the occupational field in which they are seeking training.
An important goal of this program is that participants will return home and share their experiences with their countrymen

- provide international professionals the opportunity to develop their skills with hands-on application in their occupational field
